The Stout is a descendant of the British and Irish porters of the 18th Century. These strong porters eventually became known as strong stout, then Foreign Stout or Extra Stout, depending on origin. Stouts were exported world-wide, gaining popularity in the West Indies, Africa and parts of Asia.
Toit makes an extremely flavourful Stout, jet Black in colour, with a full bodied, smooth and creamy mouth feel. I expect the alcohol content is quite low because I have gone through pints of this stuff and still walked home. The first whiff, and sip gives you the impression that you’re sipping on a sup of coffee. One of my favorite brews in town. A definite must have!
